What is counselling

I believe that everyone has the ability to grow and change. Sometimes though, it can just be so hard to understand how you feel and think about yourself and your experiences or losses. It can really help to talk through your thoughts, feelings, fears and concerns with a Counsellor who will help you to find a better understanding of yourself, your situation and solutions to your concerns. It is important that you find the right therapist for you.

I work in a non- directive and supportive way. It is important to me to build a trusting relationship between myself and you, the client. I offer a confidential, warm and accepting space where we can explore together your difficulties, your experiences and your inner thoughts and feelings. Through empathic listening, respectful challenging and gentle focusing I will support you as you express your thoughts and emotions and work towards finding your own understandings and solutions – a new way forward; a clearer understanding; the growth and change that you want.

Sessions

Our initial session will be for both of us to explore whether we wish to work together. We will talk about what you hope to get from therapy, any concerns that you may have and what I can offer you. Will also talk about confidentiality, payment and the timing for our sessions.

If we decide that we would both like to work together, sessions will last 60 minutes, and we would usually meet at the same time weekly.

I charge £50 per hour. You can pay on the day or before you arrive on line. I do not have card facilities in my practice.

If you are unable to make a booked session for any reason, please give 48 hours’ notice or you may be charged in full.
